Airline travellers can also enjoy some splendid, historic Irish countryside as they make their way, with the hire car, from the airport. The Dolmen Hotel was once part of Belmont House, a 19th cent. Country house which was for many years the home of the Thomas Family. Sadly, the house was demolished in the 1960s. The hotel has been reconstructed from the stone-faced stables and staff quarters of the earlier country home. Staff and management assure you of a perfect stay in an atmosphere that brings back some of the ease, comfort and elegance that was so much a part of life at Belmont House in earlier times. Situated on the banks of the River Barrow, the hotel has its own five-acre island and twenty acres of landscaped grounds for guests to relax in. Our Mid-week Golf Breaks comprise 3 night’s bed & breakfast, three rounds of golf and three evening meals. The hotel has 40 en-suite bedrooms, each with multi-channel TV, direct-dial telephones and beverage making facilities. Also, one can choose to stay in the River Court Lodges, these are one-bedroom apartments. There is a first-class restaurant, The Belmont, which specializes, in a perfect cuisine. Alternatively, golfers can choose a meal in the Barrow Grill Room or to eat in the Dolmen Bar.
