Located in magnificent Bantry Bay, the Glengarriff Eccles is one of the oldest hotels in Ireland, the original building dating back to 1745. Glengarriff has a mild climate, located close to the Gulf Stream, and was renowned as a health resort. The hotel has 66 bedrooms, including three mini-suites; each with colour TV and many of the rooms have a panoramic view of historic Garnish Island. Garnish Island has delightful, semi-tropical gardens, a miniature temple and a Martello Tower. The island lies ½ mile out in Bantry Bay, in front of the Eccles Hotel.
The hotel has an excellent restaurant specializing in local seafood dishes. There are so many outdoor activities catered for on the Beara Peninsula.
